SILENCE TO WORK WITH DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CHARITY REFUGE AS PART OF OUR PLEDGE 1% COMMITMENT

Silence is a Pledge 1% company, which means we give 1% of our profit, time and product to charity, and this Christmas we’ll be working with domestic violence charity Refuge.

Refuge provides specialist support to thousands of men, women and children escaping domestic violence, including sexual violence, modern slavery and female genital mutilation.

We’ll be running an online display campaign with a creative twist, revealing the unseen dark side to domestic violence using poems with a sinister twist.

This year, Silence has also worked with The Big House, a charity for care leavers, and the mental health charity Safaplace.

The Big House is a Hackney-based charity supporting care leavers who are at a high risk of social exclusion, providing a platform for them to participate in the making of theatrical productions.

We produced online display campaigns for their productions of Loose Lips and Bullet Tongue.

You can read about our Loose Lips campaign here and you’ll find our Bullet Tongue creative here.

In the summer, we launched a pop-up record and bookshop with the DJ Gilles Peterson to raise awareness and funds for the mental health charity Safaplace.

Look Up explored the positive connection between mental health and the arts through talks and performances from musicians, authors and DJs including Goldie, James Lavelle, Jordan Rakie, Dave Haslam and Aaron Unknown.

We raised over £20,000 for Safaplace.
